As a Charity we wanted to give our organisation the financial stability and make it easier for our donors to support our cause. Introducing a direct debit facility certainly has done that, giving our customers a flexible payment solution and thus making their experience far easier. As a novice, with little experience of debit debits, securing a solution was extremely daunting, especially in a very competitive and crowded market. From the initial phone call to the onboarding process, Interbacs have been enormously supportive and understood our needs as a charity. Derian House provides respite and end-of-life care to more than 400 babies, children and young people across the North West.

Their work extends right across the family to brothers, sisters, parents and grandparents.

Looking after children and young people up until their 26th birthday offering palliative care, respite stays, day care, holidays and end of life support, ensuring they have a well-established network of support in their community

The Challenge

As one of the UK's leading Children's Hospice, Derian House rely heavily on donations and contributions from its patrons to deliver critical care and respite for children, young people and their families. Running multiple donation and giving channels is paramount to their business. However, the direct debit and BACS processing component can be a difficult one to master, particularly as donor numbers grow and new initiatives are introduced. The management of individual giving, lottery, new signups via canvassing, alongside other fundraising activities represented a key challenge in digital administration, reporting and communications. 

The Solution

Seeking the support of Interbacs, Derian House were able to rationalise their existing process, identify the key siloes and areas they could economise, as well as consider all of their options and ultimately choose the best possible payment infrastructure based on their internal capabilities and resources

The Results

Derian House now mange all of their payments processes adept and smoothly with the support of the Interbacs team. They were able to save a huge amount on their supplier costs by streamlining all of their direct debit management into one, expert supplier who easily integrates with all leading charity software. Importantly,  what was one a laborious and daunting task is now fast and easy, giving the team more time to focus on fundraising activities.
