Every Bacs approved bureau arrangement, including ours, needs you to hold your own Service User Number. If you do not have one, Direct Debit facilities management is the alternative: the provider holds the Service User Number and you collect under it, which gives you access to Bacs without becoming a service user yourself.
Interbacs no longer provides facilities management directly. However, we work with a specialist partner who does, and we will make the introduction. There is no charge to you for it.
Before going down that route, it is worth establishing whether you could obtain a Service User Number of your own. A sponsoring bank assesses trading history and financial standing. We can help you through the application process and if successful, it leaves you as the service user, with your own name on your payers’ statements, and it opens both the bureau and the software routes rather than one.
If a Service User Number is genuinely not available to you, facilities management is the right answer. It suits organisations with a large payer base and a small finance team, where collections matter to the relationship rather than only to the ledger; membership bodies, schools, clubs, care providers and charities are the recurring cases.
Tell us what you are collecting and roughly what you turn over, and we will tell you honestly which of the three applies; your own SUN, our bureau, or an introduction to our Facilities Management partner.
